The bankruptcy of Karya Tour has a negative impact on the demand for Turkey in Ukraine

Ukraine Government Tourism and Resort Service asked the citizens if possible to abandon their plans for holidays in Turkey. Such appeal was motivated by the difficult financial situation of some Turkish partners of Ukrainian tour operators. Leonid Medyanoy, Press secretary of Government Tourism and Resort Service said that the payments of Ukrainian travel companies for accommodation sometimes didn’t reach the hotels in Turkey.
So, scandal connected with the bankruptcy of Karya Tour drew a wide response in Ukraine. A lot of messages concerning difficult financial situation of other participants of the market appeared in many tourist forums. According to Ukrainian tour operators, the demand for Turkey and Egypt perceptibly declined. Nevertheless, the operators hope that the panic will soon disappear and the situation will become more stable.
Just to remind, at the end of last week Turkish Holding Karya Tour announced its bankruptcy. More than 200 tourists from Russia and Ukraine were not accommodated in the hotels.
