Croatia has a chance to make up for the results of last year. The demand for spending holidays in this country increased by 30%. The operators shared their conclusions concerning the season.
Alexander Kalinin, Deputy Head of Department of UAE, Croatia and Montenegro, Capital Tour:
- This season the demand for Croatia considerably increased, according to our estimates by 25% in comparison with last year. Besides, we note the profoundness of the sales: the tours for August were booked in May and June. So, we can’t now satisfy the increasing demand, as all the means of accommodation have been sold out.
Economical variants of the tours with 3* or 4* accommodation were on great demand. However, now when there are no a lot of variants people are ready to book any available options. I can name Porec and Tsar among the most popular places.
The average prices for the end of August to the beginning of September (price per person in DBL, HB): starting from 600 Euros in 3* hotel, from 650 Euros in 4* and from 1000 Euros in 5*.
Yulia Zhadan, Head of Sales Department of Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia, Megapolus tours:
-The demand for Croatia in the Russian market increased by 28-30% during the first months of 2010 in comparison with last year. The most popular places among the tourists were Porec, Rovinj and Umag.
The majority of the hotels of Istria peninsula kept the prices at last year’s level; just some of the hoteliers increased the prices by 1-1.5%. The hotels of Middle and South Dalmatia reduced the prices and the interest of the clients increased.
3* and 4* hotels are in demand this season. The most popular region is still Istria peninsula.
The average prices for the end of August (the price per person in DBL, HB): starting from 500 Euros in 3* hotel, from 600 Euros in 4* and from 820 Euros in 5*.
Anzhelika Pikalova, Promotion Department Director of Lanta-Tour Voyage:
- In general, we can note a positive dynamics of sales of the tours to Croatia this season. The increase amounted to 25% in comparison with last year. The price increased by 3-5% due to the changes of air transportation cost in comparison with last year. The tours with 3* accommodation are the most popular among our clients.
The average prices for the end of August (the price per person in DBL, HB): starting from 590 Euros in 3* hotel and from 710 Euros in 4*.
Natalia Novikova, PR Director of TT-VKO (TUI Russia & CIS):
- The volume of sales of Croatia increased by 20% this year in comparison with last year. The most popular places became Porec (42% of our clients) and Umag (26%). 4* hotels are the most popular among our clients (about 50%). The average price for the tours to Croatia decreased by 10% in comparison with last year.
The average prices for the end of August (price per person in DBL, HB): 550-720 Euros in 3* hotels, 600-930 Euros in 4* and 775-1300 in 5*.
