All charter flights will be redirected from Moscow to Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk
03.09.2010
Some share of passenger traffic of charter flights will be redirected from Moscow to the airports of Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg, announced Vladimir Tasun, Director of the Department of State Policy in Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport.
The Ministry of Transport set the problem to Russian Aviation Authorities to reallocate the passenger traffic from Moscow due to the forthcoming reconstruction of landing strip in Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports.
“The competition in Moscow air junction (where such major companies as Aeroflot and Transaero are based) will be aggravated. It’s obvious, that the slots in schedule of charter flights will take the largest air carriers. As for the regional air carriers, it will be difficult for them to operate the flights from Moscow, so it makes sense for them to be reoriented to local markets”, thinks Dmitry Gorin, the Head of ATOR Committee for Transport. According to his words, regional companies may take back some of the flights which were redirected to Moscow due to the low demand. At the same time, according to the analysts, charter flights in Moscow will be moved to night or early morning slots in schedule and it could be very inconvenient for the tourists.
