ATOR Analytical Service (ATOR) made an exclusive research with the purpose to define where and how the citizens of the Far East of Russia spend their holidays.

The Ministry of Transport initiated forming of the insurance fund at the expense of the air carriers. The funds will be used for paying the damages of the clients of bankrupt air companies.

Bulgaria was rather popular this year. According to the results of 9 months of 2010, the tourist flow of the Russians to Bulgaria increased by 33.7%. Russia showed the best dynamics of growth among the TOP 6 countries suppliers of the tourist flow to Bulgaria.

Consular Department of the Embassy of Spain in Moscow issued 46484 Schengen visas in September 2010 (+71.2% in comparison with September 2009). In general, the Embassy has issued 382 410 visas during the period from January to September of 2010 (+ 60.6% in comparison with the same period of last year).

The growth of outbound tourist flow of the Russians to Turkey amounted to 16% according to the results of 9 months of 2010 in comparison with 2009.

ATOR Analytical Service prepared the first presentation on dynamics of the tourist flow to Indonesia. The tourist flow from Russia increased by 8.4% during the 8 months of 2010 in comparison with the same period of last year.

Almost half of the Russian tourists choose the hotels focusing on the good view from the window, noted the operators of the market. According to Ekaterina Efimova, Outbound Department Director of KMP Group, very often the willingness of the client to stay in the room with a good view affects the selection of the hotel.

The actions of protests have not stopped in France, so the possibility of cancellation of the trip is high now. According to tour operators, the slump in demand has been already noted.

According to the results of 9 months of 2010 Russia showed a maximal growth in number of the tourists among the major countries-suppliers of the tourists to Cyprus.

According to Aleksandr Trofimov, Chairperson of Association of the Crimea’s Resorts, more than 90% of the tourists who had vacations in the region this summer will come back. Russian tour operators confirm that the Crimea was very popular in summer, even took the lead over the resorts of Krasnodarksiy krai.

It may well be so, that Maldives will become a mass destination. As reports Interfax-tourism, Russian operators will be able to offer the tourists extended holiday programs thanks to the increase of number of the flights to the destination.

Last year was rather difficult for the Russian travel business. This year the market has been recovering and it causes a considerable increase of offers in domestic market.

The deficit of skilled personnel in tourism sphere amounts to 40% in the regions of the Russian Federation. Such information was received from the Head of the Direction of Analysis and Organization   of the Travel and Hotels’ Activities of Russiatourism. According to the operators of the market, the situation is aggravated by the fact that the modern system of education is incapable to train the specialists for the industry.

The Governments of Russia and Turkey decided to exchange the information concerning financial stability of the operators of two countries offering the services in Turkish resorts. Such informational exchange will help to avoid negative impact of possible bankruptcies of tour operators.
