The Ukrainians traveled less abroad during the crisis

In 2008 the number of the Ukrainians traveling abroad decreased by 10% (from 17.3 to 15.5 million people).  

In 2009 the Ukrainians traveled abroad 15.3 million times. The number of tourists in 2008 was 15.499 million people and 15.334 million people in 2009.

At the same time the number of foreign visitors increased in Ukraine for the last several years. Only 6.431 million people visited the country in 2000 and in 2001 the number increased in almost 1.5 times (9.174 million people). 12.514 million people visited Ukraine in 2003, 17.631 million in 2005, the peak of foreign tourism was noted in 2008 (25.449 million tourists).

Meanwhile Ukraine is in the lead among the Post-Soviet states in number of illegal migrants on polish border.
