The number of Bulgarian visas, issued for the Russians, has increased by 40% this year

The number of visas issued for the Russians since the beginning of the year has increased by 40% in comparison with the same period of last year. This information was received from the Consul of Bulgaria in Moscow Angel Georgiev.

“Such increase of number of visas was noted in Moscow only in the Embassies of Bulgaria and Spain, explained Mr. Georgiev. – Now we have in process about 3500 applications a day, that’s almost a record figure for us. I think, that we will issue one-hundred-thousandth visa in the nearest future.

The majority of the tourists apply for visas with the help of tour operators, which are able to submit the documents to visa centre or directly to Consular Department of the Embassy.

The Embassy has started to make the list of the tour operators for submitting the documents directly since June 15, 2010. Tour operator can submit not more than 200 passports a day, saving 760 rubles per passport. “It’s advantageously for the clients and for tour operators as well”, said Angel Georgiev.

Just to remind, last year Bulgaria appeared among the countries which almost “didn’t lose” Russian tourists. More than 207 thousand tourists from Russia had vacations in Bulgaria last year. One of the most important reasons for choosing Bulgaria is quality-price ratio.
