Finland is a leader in number of issued Schengen visas for the Russians

The highest number of “C” type Schengen visas for the Russians was issued in 2009 by the Consulate of Finland. Other leaders for such criterion became Italy, Germany, Spain and Greece, reported Travel.ru.

According to the data of the Directorate of Justice, Liberty and Security of the European Union, the Consulates of Finland in Russia issued 729 603 visas. The majority of the visas were issued in St. Petersburg (542 481 visas). The number of refusals amounted 0.73%. 122 265 visas got the tourists in Moscow Consulate (1.41% of refusals), 45 604 visas in Petrozavodsk (0.92%) and 19 253 visas in Murmansk (0.3%).  

331 091 tourists got Italian visas: 311 851 visas were issued in Moscow Consulate and 19 240 visas in St. Petersburg. The number of the refusals amounted 1.01% in Moscow and 0.39% in St. Petersburg.

In the Consulates of Germany in Russia the tourists got 326 994 visas last year. Moscow Consulate issued 210 592 visas. The number of refusals amounted 3.19%. The Consulate in Novosibirsk issued 36 945 visas (1.03% of refusals), St. Petersburg – 33 287 visas (3.5% of refusals), Yekaterinburg – 28 586 visas (0.72% of refusals) and Kaliningrad – 17 584 visas with 2.67% of refusals.

The Russian tourists also got 287 888 Spanish visas in Moscow with the record number of refusals (8.83%). As for St. Petersburg, the Consulate issued 16 519 visas (5.4% of refusals). 

And finally, 251 338 visas were issued by the Consulates of Greece last year. 215 875 visas were issued in Moscow (0.82% of refusals), 27 302 visas in St. Petersburg (0.39%) and 8 161 visas in Novorossiysk (0.52%).
