Visa formalities scare away the Ural tourists from Europe
28.07.2010
Visa regime between the Russian Federation and the European Union reduces the interest of the tourists from Ural region in some European destinations.
“Since the moment when some of the European countries have opened diplomatic missions in Yekaterinburg, it helps to get visas”, says Olga Gulyar, Director of Zima-Leto Group of Companies, “but the procedure of issuing visas in some cases is not very simple; the most problematic country is Germany”.
According to Olga Gulyar, to get Schengen visa is necessary to prepare a lot of documents. As for Germany, there is a big problem with the queues for submitting the documents. That’s why not a lot of tourists from Ural region travel to this country.
At the same time, Russia and the European Union made the first steps to the visa abolition procedure. Just to remind, on June 1, 2010 the Russian Federation sent to EU a project of Agreement concerning this matter.
