Visa abolition to Macedonia is unlikely to increase the number of the tourists

Up to October 16, 2010 the Russians are able to visit Macedonia without visas. The Russian citizens can stay in Macedonia up to 90 days without visas. The tourists should have passport, insurance and a necessary sum of money for staying in the country.

Just to remind, the Russians generally need visa to visit Macedonia. The visa is usually issued during 3 days and costs 38 Euros.

However, some experts who offer the trips to Macedonia think that such novelty is unlikely to increase the tourist flow from Russia to this country.

"There are no direct flights to Skopje. It’s only possible to fly by charter flights to Dubrovnik or Tivat and then go by car. It also possible to fly via Istanbul and Belgrade, but it’s rather expensive”, noted the experts.

According to the information of travel companies, several hundreds of the Russians visit Macedonia yearly. Some of the tourists arrive directly from Russia; others visit the country during one-day excursion trips.
