More than half of the Russians take the excursions during the vacations

The majority of the Russians spending holidays in beach destinations prefer take some excursions, report tour operators.
Marina Makarkova, PR Director of TEZ Tour said Interfax-Tourism that for example in Crete (Greece) the number of people ordering excursions amounts to 60%.
"According to our data, one third of these tourists take at least 2 excursions. On the average, the tourists spend 75 Euros per person for the excursions”, she said. “It’s important to note that the majority of the excursions provide 50% discounts for the children from 4 to 12 years old”.
The data of the operators can be confirmed by the Greek statistics, according to which the Russian tourists in Greece, in particular in Crete Island, spend almost in two times more for the excursions than the British and the Germans.
Just to remind, Greece is one of the most popular beach destinations for the Russian market. About 400 thousand Russians visit the country every year. Creteisthemostpopularislandforthetourists. Almost one third of all the tourist flow from Russia goes to Crete.
Tending to attract the Russian tourists, the local hotels and resorts have offered reasonable prices this year. Besides, Greek Consulate decided to issue multiple Schengen visas for the Russians and it also increased the demand for Greece.
