France refuses to issue visas in 2.5 % of the cases

Consulate of France in Moscow issued about 120 thousand visas during the first six months of 2010. The growth amounted to 15% in comparison with the same indicators of last year. The majority of visas were issued for tourist purposes.

France issued for less than 30% of visas during the six months of last year in comparison with the same period of 2008. So, the Embassies officials note that the interest to France has returned.  

The number of refusals amounts to 2.5% this year, informs Interfax. The main reasons for the refusals are incorrect documents or false information.  

Just to remind, recently EU Directorate on Justice, Freedom and Security published the data about the number of applications and issued visas for the citizens of Russia in 2009. Spain became the leader in number of refusals (8.83% in Moscow and 5.4% in St. Petersburg).  

Hungary, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Finland and Estonia refused the tourists from Russia in issuing visas just in 1% of all the cases.
