The tourist flow of foreigners to Vietnam increased by 40% and of the Russians by 60%

430 thousand foreign tourists visited Vietnam in August and that was for 38% more than during the same period of last year, reports Vietnam Tourism.
According to official statistics, the total number of foreign visitors during the period from January to August amounted to more than 3 350 000 people. The growth of tourist flow has amounted to 35% since the beginning of the year.
The most popular city among the visitors became Ho Chi Minh, 1 million 93 thousand people visited the city during the first 8 months of 2010 (+14%).
Vietnam Tourism notes that the activity of the tourists increases during the autumn and winter months. A lot of Chinese tourists visit Vietnam, 65-90 thousand people per month. Besides China, these countries can be included into the list of TOP 10 suppliers of the tourists to Vietnam: the USA, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, France and Spain. All these countries except the USA showed the increase of the flow by 20-30%.
Russia is a priority market for Vietnam, though Vietnam takes just 29th position in the list of TOP 40 popular destinations among the Russians.
Nevertheless, the tourist flow from Russia has been growing. One of the advantages of Vietnam is a visa-free entry for the Russians for the trips for less than 15 days. The great increase was noted during the first six months of 2010 (+57.3%); 26.6 thousand Russian tourists visited Vietnam during this period.
According to Coral Travel experts, the growth of demand for Vietnam can be explained by the appearance of the great number of high class hotels in country.
