More international flights, but less demand for them
Such conclusion was made by ATOR Analytical Service after receiving the data of the Russian Aviation Authorities for September and total indicators for 9 months of 2011.
According to the Russian Aviation Authorities, the flights’ occupancy decreased by 1% in September in comparison with last year and amounted to 85.1%. However the number of the passengers for international flights increased by 14.5% in comparison with September of last year. At the same time the total passenger traffic of the Russian air carriers increased by 16.6% in comparison with September 2010. Summing up the results of 9 months of 2011, this indicator amounted to 13.6%.
A gradual increase of the number of the passengers for the international flights outside CIS continued in September 2011 in comparison with last year. According to the results of the month it amounted to 14.5% from the indicator of last year (2 988 400 passengers). In absolute numbers the growth in September 2011 amounted to 378 000 passengers in comparison with 2010.
According to the results of 9 months of 2011, the number of transported people for international flights amounted to 20 617 600 people.
The number of the passengers of the domestic flights of the Russian air carriers increased by 12.9% in September in comparison with September 2010 and amounted to 3 264 000 passengers. According to the results of 9 months of 2011 the number of transported people for domestic flights increased by 11.9% and amounted to 24 932 000 people. The occupancy rate of the domestic flights decreased by 1.9% in September (75.5%).
The TOP 5 of air companies has remained the same: Aeroflot (10 541 000 passengers, the growth of 23.5% in 2011), Transaero (6 559 000 people with increase of 29.5%), UTair (4 174 000, +22.1% in 2011), Sibir (3 839 000, + 4.1%) and GTK Rossiya (2 712 000, +13.1%).
